JSDV2 Severity Level 1 and 2 (High Priority Outages) - Child Tickets

For High Priority outages, link all related tickets to the Master ticket (parent)

To create a linked Child Ticket from the Master Ticket:

In the Parent ticket:

  • Select More
  • Click Create linked issue in the drop-down menu
  • For “This issue” select “is child of”

Caution:  Make sure that the correct Project and Issue Type is in focus for the ticket:  Project:  IT Service Desk (ITSD) and Issue Type: Incident

  • Choose the parent ticket issue
  • Add a comment as needed
  • Click “Create"


To link an existing ticket as a Child Ticket from the Master Ticket:

In the existing ticket:

  • Select More
  • Click Link in the drop-down menu
  • For “This issue” select “is child of”

Caution:  Make sure that the correct Project and Issue Type is in focus for the ticket:  Project:  IT Service Desk (ITSD) and Issue Type: Incident

  • Choose the parent ticket issue
  • Add a comment as needed
  • Click “Link"


NOTE:  Severity Level 1 and 2 CANNOT be CLOSED without a PIR:  JSD2 Post-Incident Review (PIR) Process
