2022-09-12 Meeting - O365/M365/MSOffice & CDT Contract
Date
Attendees
Agenda
- We received this email from Tricia Cosker at DTech: FW Sacramento County's Use of CDT Contract for M365 G5.msg
- Please read this email before the meeting
- It looks like they are joining the California Department of Technology (CDT) contract to purchase O365, M365, and on-premise licensing
- Is there any desire to make a change?
- Should we make a change?
- If so, when should we make that change?
- If we don't get to answers in this meeting, who will do this evaluation?
Notes
- We will not move to O365/M365 now, but we will start planning on having these discussions with the ETSC over the next year (well before our next EA comes up for renewal)
- Moving to O365/M365 will be a BIG change for both users (i.e., more options for file storage locations, etc.) and for our infrastructure team (i.e., Azure Active Directory Services, moving to our own tenancy, etc.)
- We all agreed that switching to O365/M365 while also separating from the County and implementing an ERP is too much to bite off at the same time.
- Kent & Tina will get quotes for 2 and 3 year agreements to continue with on-prem Office from Riverside contract and CDT contract. When we are in an agreement, we cannot takeaway products (i.e., if we buy on-prem Office for 3 years and want to switch to O365 1 year later, we are still paying for on-prem licenses for 2 additional years.
