2020-21 Q1 (July-Sept 2020) Report Highlights

General comments on writing:

  • Don’t use first-person voice.  No “We,” “I,” “us,” etc. Third person only for this professional report.
  • Your audience is unfamiliar with ISD.  Make sure you write it like you’re explaining to a stationary engineer on her first day.  The highlights section should be wholly decipherable and clear.
  • For all writing intended for an audience outside of IT, adhere to the Regional San and SASD Writing Style Guide

  • The Clerical application was updated. This is an application used by SASD Clerical staff to manage workstation locations, evacuation reporting, and phone cards.  The last update was in 2013, so it was brought up to date. Some of the functionality (the ability to add Regional San and Contractors to the system) was disabled and moved to the Employee system.
  • The Employee System application was updated. This is an application used by the SASD Timesheet Administration staff to manage a list of SASD employees, and information about their position. In addition, most of the old ASP pages were replaced with ASP.Net Forms pages.
  • The MCAP application was updated. This is an application used by the SASD Timesheet Administration staff to setup accounting codes.  The last update was in 2015, so it was brought up to date. The main enhancement was to adjust the cost center editor to better manage cost center supervisors.
  • The SASD Timesheet application was updated. The Maximo Time retrieval function as more validation logic to prevent incorrectly added time from being imported. Backup Supervisor logic was tuned to be more intuitive. Employees are able to add time on a day that has already been approved by a supervisor. This allows scheduling a partial day off in the future work a bit more intuitively. Contractor support was changed; they are shown on the supervisor staff list unless they are selected.
