Network Password Requirements

• Maximum Password age: 180 days
• Minimum Password age: 30 days
• Minimum Password length: 8
• Password Uniqueness: 5
• Lockout after: 5 bad attempts
• Lockout duration: 15 minutes

When you change your password, the system requires that your password to be a minimum of 8 characters in length and you cannot reuse the last five passwords. The system will require you to change your password every 180 days and limit the number of password changes to one change per month. In addition, if you incorrectly type your password 5 consecutive times, your account will be locked for 15 minutes. If you do lock your account, you can either wait the 15 minutes or call the MSA Help Desk at 875-4488 and have your password reset.
